This 70 I.O.R. mini- maxi was built by Derecktor Shipyard and launched in 1986. She is built entirely of aluminum with the exception of the cockpit which is constructed of a Nomex/Kevlar sandwich. 22 in crew!

The design numbers 1624 seem to be slighlty "inverted".
The first 42 alu. yawl built by Derecktor was called Sundance (see the valuable article by Patrick Matthisen on the cooporation between S&S and Derecktor. Buitl in (?) 1960. Then follows Marianne (1962), and in 1972 the last boat to this design - and the only sloop rigged version - called Sonnet. Lydia Bird has described her adventures with Sonnet in hetr fine novel. At this moment Sonnet is ours - re-christened Leto. See the S&S Association Yearbooks.
