I went for a late evening paddle from Llantwit Major to test out my new Standard Horizon HX280E VHF Radio. Thanks to everyone who commented I decided to go with this model last weekend. Its really easy to use, water proof and at £89 was a lot cheaper than some models. I received a forecast update and a few other messages loud and clear. Only down side is it doesnt float. I paddled as far as St Donnats castle taking in the caves on the way, which for once I could get close to.
